Recipo Privacy Policy

Summary

Recipo is a photo editing app. Core photo editing runs on device. Recipo does not require account creation for the core editing flow.

Photos and Camera

Recipo accesses your photo library when you open the library or choose a photo to edit. Edits to imported photos stay in the app until you choose Save to Photos or share.

Recipo uses the camera when you open the live camera. Photos you capture are saved automatically to your photo library after a successful capture, with Photos permission. The app also keeps recent capture sources and local edits on this device as described in its storage controls.

Recipe Sharing

When you choose to share a Recipe Card or link, Recipo creates a card image and QR code containing the recipe name and color adjustments. The link carries this data in its URL fragment. Photos, notes, camera capture settings, purchase state, and your analytics identifier are not included. Anyone you send the card or link to can read and import its recipe settings. Recipo checks the link and supported recipe version before saving a received recipe.

Optional Usage Analytics

Usage analytics are off by default. If you choose to turn on Send Usage Analytics in Camera Settings, Recipo may send a small set of pseudonymous product-interaction and usage events to PostHog. These can include an event name, selected look ID, app and operating-system version, device model, locale, session ID, and a random app-specific identifier. Events and performance timings can be associated across sessions through this identifier; this is pseudonymous data, not fully anonymous data.

We do not send photos, image pixels, filenames, EXIF, face or skin inference, location, GPS, paths, URLs, raw bytes, purchase receipts, account identities, or cross-app tracking identifiers. We do not use analytics for advertising or tracking.

You can turn Send Usage Analytics off at any time. Turning it off immediately stops further transmission and removes Recipo's persisted anonymous analytics ID and the token-scoped PostHog queue from the device. Editing and saving photos continue to work with analytics off.

Local App Data

Recipo may store local app preferences and editing state on your device, such as whether feedback was submitted or camera preferences.

Purchases

The current release in preparation offers six free filters and unlimited personal recipes without a purchase. No payment details are collected by Recipo for these features. This update does not change photo processing, local storage, or optional usage analytics described above.
